Sign up for a pre-release environment
Why require a pre-release organization? It's a test environment with new release features activated, so you'll have plenty of time to try them out and see which ones are best for your company. You can log back into your pre-release org for Winter '22 if you already had one. Join the Trailblazer Community Treasure Hunt to learn what other customers are interested in if you're not sure what features you want to deploy.

With a better user experience, Salesforce Help is the new home for release notes. It's now time to look at the release notes. Filters can be used to see only the portions that are relevant to the edition and clouds you are now using

The cut-off date for the sandbox
Before the scheduled production upgrade, use your sandbox to obtain early access to new features and test your configurations. To get the Spring '22 preview in your sandbox, you must have an active sandbox on a preview instance before January 6, 2021. Because your sandbox is already on a preview instance, you usually don't need to do anything. The sandbox preview instructions article on Salesforce Help has all the information you need.
January 7 and 8, 2021
Upgraded sandboxes
If you chose to use sandbox preview, your selected sandboxes will be upgraded to Spring '22 this weekend. The sandboxed preview, like the pre-release program, allows you to test new features without affecting your real environment. The ability to test new features in a configuration that matches your production environment is an added benefit of the sandbox preview.

The website for the release has gone up. We understand that everyone processes information released in a different way. As a result, Trailhead's Release Highlights module is a quick and easy method to learn about features. We offer demo videos, Trailhead modules, community forums, and more to make the process as simple as possible for you.

The first weekend of release
The first release weekend is when Salesforce and a select group of customers are upgraded. You've probably already identified your essential characteristics at this point. The Release Readiness Trailblazers group will have the content you need to get your organization's users up to speed on the new features you want to roll out if you're ready for your upgrade.
February 4 - 11, 2021
Live broadcast of release readiness
Make a note of the date! Our admin and developer evangelists kick off the Spring '22 Release by highlighting their favorite features. The product management team will then talk about and demonstrate the new features. View those features in action and get an early glimpse at the roadmap for 2022. The agenda and schedule will be shared on our Release Readiness Trailblazers group in January.
February 4, 2021
The second weekend of release
Another group of instances will be upgraded at this time. Our Trust page provides the most up-to-date information on the upgrade's timetable, but because it only takes five minutes, you shouldn't expect any disruption to your operations or uptime.
February 11, 12, 2021
Weekend of the final release
On February 11 and 12, all remaining Salesforce instances will be upgraded. If you choose not to participate in the sandbox preview, your organizations will be upgraded during this weekend.
