Top Experience Cloud Summer '22 Features

Salesforce came up with the updated and upgraded version of Experience Cloud in the Summer’22 release notes. Customers with Experience Cloud licenses can take advantage of complete access to all Salesforce Content Management System (CMS) features. Mobile Publisher modifications for Experience Cloud apps make app navigation easier.

Let’s have a look at the latest features

Use enhanced CMS workspaces and improved site search (Beta)

Visitors can look for the content contained in components in sites created with the Build Your Own (LWR) template using the improved site search. You can also create, manage, and publish content more easily with enhanced Salesforce CMS workspaces. These beta features are powered by a rearchitected platform behind the scenes. After you enable the beta features, the sites and enhanced CMS workspaces you create are hosted on our adaptable, cohesive data layer.

Where: This modification affects Lightning Experience in Developer Edition as well as sandbox environments in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

How: To begin using the beta features, go to Setup, enter Digital Experiences in the Quick Find box, and then click Settings. Save your changes after selecting Turn on beta features.

Use the Build Your Own (LWR) template, and create a site. Only Build Your Own (LWR) sites created after you enable the beta features will have improved site search and the ability to share content from enhanced workspaces.

Select Create an enhanced workspace when creating a workspace in the Digital Experiences app. You can share the content you create in the enhanced workspace with your new Build Your own (LWR) site.

Use Flows in LWR Sites

Automate your processes and use them on your super-fast websites. Flows are now available in all LWR templates on LWR sites. Using flows, you can use Flow Builder's unlimited flexibility to display screen flows on your site. Build flows in LWR using Lightning web components. Flows built with Aura components are not permitted to run in LWR locations.

Where: This change affects Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic LWR sites in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. To use this feature, your organization must have at least one active community license.

Sites with the Lightning Locker Property should be updated.

Once recovered, the Experience Bundle now includes the ability to disable Lightning Locker, making it easier to update your Aura and LWR sites programmatically. Earlier, the Experience Bundle did not include the Locker Service Enabled property in the config folder's mainAppPage.json file.

Where: This modification affects Aura and LWR sites accessed via Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

How: You must first set is relaxed CSP Level to true before setting is Locker Service Enabled to false.

When Relaxed CSP is enabled, you can also disable Lightning Locker for a site in Experience Builder | Settings | Security & Privacy. Disabling Lightning Locker can lead to security flaws in your site and prevent third-party components from being available during design and rendering at runtime.

Create Records for High-Volume Sites More Efficiently

Allow your high-volume site to generate five times as many records at the same time without slowing down. When users submit requests, they are collected and processed asynchronously in batches. This modification improves performance and keeps your site running during periods of high traffic.

Where: This modification affects Aura sites accessed via Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

How: To process the creation of leads, cases, and custom objects in batches, check the Create records in the batches checkbox in the Create Record Form component settings.

Recover Access with More Granular Permissions for Personal Information Fields

Assign the View Concealed Field Data permission to the appropriate Experience Cloud site users to ensure that they can access personal information in Summer '22.

Where: This modification affects Aura, LWR, and Visualforce sites in the Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. Lightning Experience is used to access the View Concealed Field Data interface.

How: Admins can grant access by assigning the View Concealed Field Data permission to users via a permission set.

As an Experience Cloud customer, have full CMS functionality.

Customers with Experience Cloud licenses can now access all Salesforce CMS features without purchasing add-on functionality. Use features such as the Microsite LWR site template, content publication scheduling, content type, item creation, and previewing headless content on a site.

Where: This modification affects Lightning Experience Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with active Experience Cloud licenses.

Get More out of Mobile Publisher for Experience Cloud

Newer preconfigured tabs, Home and User Settings along with a hamburger menu and a back button make navigating your Experience Cloud mobile apps easier than ever. Furthermore, with the Mobile Publisher App Update component, you can assist users in updating their app version so that your apps continue to function when enhanced domains are enabled in your organization.

Where: This change affects apps created with Mobile Publisher for your Experience Cloud Aura sites in the Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
